Dhatrilauha is herbomineral compound drug. Which is being used in Ayurveda for same. The present study was planned to assess the efficacy of Dhatrilauha on scientific parameters in this study total number of cases were taken into account and divided in to trial and control group in control group a modern proved drug ranitidine is taken to compare the results this study produced very promising results of trial drug. |

A Thankamma, LG Radhika, C Soudamini This paper deals with the standardisation of Eladhi choornam . It is a compound preparation of 6 ingredients along with sugar, viz 1. Nagakesara, 2. Maricham, 3. Twak, 4. Ela, 5. Sunti, 6. Pippali. Chromatographic technique was used for the detection of the ingredients. Different solvent systems were developed for each ingredients and spots were visualized in Iodine vapours. Presence of spots with identical Rf values in the single drugs and finished product indicate the presence of the single drugs in the finished product the parameters evolved in this stud can be considered viable for this preparation. |

The aqueous extract of Orthosiphon thymiflorus produced significant inhibitory effect on the dose response curve of acetyl choline. It is concluded that the aqueous extract of Orthosiphon thymiflorus ma exert an inhibitory effect on the skeletal muscle contraction and may be due to inhibition of the effect of acetylcholine at the receptor site. |

The ethanolic extract of the leaves was screened for related activities were upon it exhibited significant anti-inflammatory activity in rats in acute and chronic models. There was no acute toxicity in mice upto 2g/kg. The extract protected the mast cell deregulation by compound 48/80 and inhibited histamine induced contractions in guinea pig ileum. The data obtained in this study suggest that the extract ma act by stabilizing mast cells ad blocking histamine receptors. |

Pharmacological actions of CARDIPRO on cardiovascular system |

S Chatterjee, SN Das, SK Agrawala CARDIPRO is a polyhedral anti-oxidant and cardiotonic formulation recommended to be used in various cardiovascular disturbances, effect of CARDIPRO on different in vitro and in vivo cardiovascular responses were studied. CARDIPRO produced hypotensive effect in dogs and rabbits. The effect was blocked by prior atropinization, CARDIPRO also potentiated and prolonged the beta receptor mediated hypotensive action of adrenaline in dogs. CARDIPRO was found to produce peripheral vasodilation in perfused frog blood vessels, CARDIPRO exerted positive ionotrpic and negative chronotropic effects on perfused amphibian and mammalian heart (isolated and in situ) it also produced transient positive ionotrpic effect on hypodynamic frog hert. CARDIPRO enhanced the amplitude of contractive response of isolated rat auricle. CARDIPRO did not produce an per se effect on electrocardiogram of rabbits, CARDIPRO enhanced both basal and maximum coronary perfusion flow in isolated perfused rabbi hert. The cardiotonic properly of CARDIPRO along with its peripheral and coronary vasodiating effects may greatly help in management of carediovascular diseases. |
