The present paper deals with the athnomedicobotany of crude drugs used by a seminomadic ethnic group, the Yanadis, found in Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh. This aboriginal group is considered to be the conservators of folklore medicine. Fourteen plant species available in the locality, used by this tribe to cure ailments like epilepsy, hysteria fits and insanity were collected. The valid scientific and vernacular names, plant parts used, therapeutic combinations, mode of administration were enumerated.

The macroscopic characters of L. lavandulaefolia , physical constant values, behaviour on treatment with different chemical reagents, fluorescence characteristics after treatment with different chemical reagents of the powder of L. Lavandulaefolia  were studied to fix some pharmacognostical parameters. Preliminary phytochemical studies and TLC characterization of different extractives has also been performed. These studies will help in future for identifying the plant for further research.

The Present paper reports 36 wild edible angiospermic species from Nasik district of Maharashtra. The district is inhabited by the aborigines viz Bhils, Thakur, Katkari, Warli, Kokani, Kunbi-Kokana a Mahadeo-Koli, apart from other rural populace. The use leaves, tubers rhizoms, bulbils, fruits, seeds, flowers, etc as complementary to their diet or in a times of scarcity during famines.

Traditional Medicine has its own importance for the treatment of various medical and surgical diseases irrespective of tremendous development of modern medicine. There are number of diseases were after repeated surgery. Fistula-in ano is one such condition which is prone to recurrence even after repeated surgery and can be effectively treated by Ayurvedic medicines. An extensive work has been done on the treatment of Bhagandara by Kshara sutra exploring various aspects of the problem and finding our the solution to them1. the present study is related to similar type of medicated thread known as Aragvadadi Sutra which has been mentioned by sushruta in Bhagandara. It consists of Aragvadha (Cassia fistula), Haridra (Curcuma longa), Agaru (Aquilaria agalocha), Madhu (Honey) and Ghrita (Ghee). This is the first non-caustic thread being tried on different types of Bhagandara. Especially it is a painless thread, non-irritant and very useful in sensitive patients like children, females and elders.

Cynodon dactylon  commonly known as Durva is considered as a sacred herb by the Hindus and is used in religious rites. It is widely used by the people of India as a traditional medicine for diarrhea, dysentery, catarrhal opthalmia, dropsy, etc. This paper discusses the pharmacognostical and preliminary phytochemical studies of the herb.

A clinical stud has been performed on the role of Lucomyn, an Ayurvedic uterine tonic in the treatment of an important gynaecological problem i .e-True dysmenorrhoea. The result of said stud is really very encouraging because about 64% patients relieved excellently, 25% patients got average response and only 11% patients got poor effect, With the treatment of said tonic in t dos of I tablespoonful (15 ml) twice daily for 10 weeks.

Kadhaka Kadhiradi Kasayam (KKK) was screened for hepatoprotective activity against carbon tetrachloride induced liver injury in albino rats at a dose of 0.5ml/kg body weight. The drug reduced weight alkaline phosphatase and GOT activity in liver, cholesterol and GPT activity in serum. There was no effect on protein and liver glycogen.

The preliminary investigations of crude during resources of sugali tribes of Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh with their recipes, preparation of drugs, administration, usage form several centuries. Fifty plant crude drugs (species) belong to twenty nine families were collected based on folk-lore knowledge. Botanical name, family name, part used, mode of preparation and administration and purpose, for which it as been used were enumerated.

Rhythmicity is a ubiquitous phenomenon. Rhythmic temporal patterns are considered and important factor in therapeutics as effective treatments should work in conjunction with body's clocks. Te concept of chronobiology is well evidenced by the cyclic alterations of dosas in the body. The Ayurvedic way of living as well as healing has been developed keeping in mind these biological clocks so as to maintain a balanced state of dosas in the present paper an attempt is made to review the ayurvedic concept of chronobiology and chronotherapy.

Andrographis is an important genus used in Indian medicine. A comprehensive review on this genus is presented in this article.

The extracts of the dried leaves of Anacardium occidentale  were screened for anti-inflammatory activity using carrageenan induced rat paw edema model. The petroleum ether and chloroform extract and acetone soluble fraction of methanolic extract showed 57.14%, 47.61% and 61.90% inhibition of paw edema respectively. Acetone soluble extract showed better activity than petroleum either and chloroform extracts.

The protective effect of the petroleum ether fraction of the indigenous drug Cardiospermum halicacabum  against electroshock induced convulsions in rats was studied. Alcoholic extract of the petroleum ether fraction of Cardiospermum halicacabum  in the dose of 350 mg/kg body weight was effectively reduced the extensor an flexor component of tonic convulsions in electroshock induced convulsions in rats. The difference was statistically significant (p<0.05) with respect to control.

The present study is an attempt to enlist plants used to increase the secretion of milk among new mothers and lactating woman and to gather information on how this plant resources are used by indigenous people in Andhra Pradesh. This stud have brought to light 13 useful plants that were formerly either less known or unknown.
