Sir,

The recent report on Quality control for Tamra (copper) Bhasma (TB) is very interesting. [1] Jagtap et al. tried to set the "quality control" for TB based on determination of copper. Indeed, the quality control is very important in any scientific process. The control for Ayurvedic formulation is needed. However, the actual quality control must be more comprehensive. The focus should be:

  1. Pre-preparation process.
The control of materials, experience of practitioner and site.
  2. Preparation process.
The control of tool, analyzer and processing.
  3. Post-preparation process.
The control of maintenance system, stocking system as well as post-marketing surveillance.
Application of the control for the whole process can help upgrade the standards of present Ayurvedic formulation.
